CP was a stepping stone in allowing me to understand myself and how I like to study. As a United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Cadet and Student-Athlete going into my junior year, I continue to use organizational tools such as the planner and pushing myself to complete those tasks I have each day. My schedule consists of:
mandatory breakfast at 0700-0730
classes (3 different classes on M days and 3 different classes on T days/6 total) 0730-1130
noon meal formation at 1135
mandatory lunch 1200-1230
mandatory PE class (this year I'm doing Unarmed Combat 1 (UC1) and UC2 which are 8 lessons each on T days in the fall semester because fall tennis season with tournaments is less busy than the spring tennis season with dual matches) 1330-1500
Practice on M days 1400-1600 then lift 1615-1715
Conditioning on T days 1515-1600 then practice 1615-1815
Dinner with team 1900-1930
Homework on a 2000-0000
Repeat
On weekends in the fall season we have 4-5 tournaments and spring season 25 dual matches plus Mountain West Conference tournament and potentially NCAA tournament.
I've had to and continue to learn how to manage my time especially since I aspire to go to Medical School and become a C-17 Pilot and Doctor. CP helped me lay the foundations of how to do it and allowed me to find out what I wanted to do after I graduate from USAFA. The close knit environment and close student-teacher ratio helped me prepare for the academy's similar ratios and allowed me to become more comfortable asking professors and classmates for help and guidance instead of floundering which I've seen happen to many cadets because they are not comfortable with the smaller more intimate academic environment. By learning all these things such as what I want to become as an Officer in the USAF when I immediately graduate, and the techniques to study and to allocate time while being a Cadet and Student-Athlete helped me be in the position that I am today. I am also thankful for how ATA CP helped me with the demanding application process and tennis recruiting process to be a piece of the puzzle which allowed me to pursue the amazing opportunities I have as a Cadet/Student-Athlete and future officer in the USAF.
